Establishment of CSSC
Established
as the second class academic association of the agronomy society
of China on December 20 in 1961, and became the national
academic society in 1984.

Membership:
At
present, there are more than 20,000 individual members and 46
group members in the society.
Important
Activities:
In
1992, the society put forward
“The suggestions on studying and extending of suburb
agricultural technology”, which, affirmed by the national
leaders, acquired the second-class award of excellent
suggestions in the third meeting of the China Association for
Science and Technology.
CSSC also organized and published two volumes of the Biography
of Chinese Scientists-Agronomy–Crops. The first volume was
recognized by the CAST as one of the “ excellent books” and
won the editor-in-chief Zhuang Qiusheng and the editor Lee
Chunhua special commendations. The included biography of “
Ding Yin” also received an excellent article award.
CSSC has achieved good society effectiveness through
agricultural science popularization, published books of Crop
Cultivation in China, the Series of Farmer’s Applied
Technology (100 copies), recorded videos of Wheat High-yield
Cultivation with Water Saving Technology, and extended
agriculture technology in Guizhou and Shanxi provinces.
CSSC
recommends scientists working on crops for academicians of
Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In
2007, CSSC has completed a book named “Report on Advances in
Crop Science” which has been published in 2008.
