The
interim regulations for senior members
Ⅰ
Admission
Qualifications for senior membership
Experts who are
engaged in research, education, extension, production, business
and administrative management involved in or related to
agriculture, with a vice senior qualification (or equivalent),
who enthusiastically support the work of the society and are
willing to attend the activities of the society, may apply to
join as a senior member.
Ⅱ
Entrance procedure
-Qualified
individuals must put forward the application to the crop society
of their province, autonomous region or municipality, or to the
society (including the committees of subjects and branch
societies)
-Qualified
individuals must complete an application form, acquire a
membership card, which is made by CSSC.
Ⅲ
Privileges of senior members
-Priority and
preference to take part in the activities of academic
communication (both home and abroad), international
investigation and members’ parties.
-Priority to take
part in the related international organizations as a delegate of
China.
-Priority to take
part in the academic activities organized by CSSC, including
investigation, reasoning, consulting assessment, seminars, etc.
-Priority to
recommend candidates of the academicians of Chinese Academy of
Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, Outstanding Youth
Science and Technology Award, the National Excellent Science and
Technology Working Staff Award, and the honor titles of the
related home academic organizations.
-Given free the
journals of Acta Agronomica Sinica, Crops Agronomica Sinica,
CSSC newsletters and the schedules of annual academic
activities. The paper collections in the important CSSC’
activities offered at a preferential price.
-Actively safeguard
the legitimate rights and interests of the members, reflect to
related organizations the voice and suggestions from the
members.
Ⅳ
Duties of senior members
-Abide by the
regulations of CSSC, pay the membership fees on time.
-Fulfill all the
resolutions approved by the society, implement the society’s
resolution, accept the work entrusted by the society.
Ⅴ
The standard of membership fee
An individual yearly
membership fee of 200 RMB must be paid in October of the
previous year. Alternatively, a four-year membership may be
bought for 800 RMB. All payments may be done either through the
post office or bank. The receiving account is as follows: Crop
Science Society of China, CAAS Branch, Beijing Division,
Transportation Bank. Account
number, 060435018001069607. A receipt will be delivered by CSSC
after the payment.
Ⅵ
The others
CSSC will recognise
those members who have made contributions to its work. Donations
from members, will be mainly used in the encouragement fund
named after the donor, which aims at encouraging agriculture
technologists.
Members have freedom
of entrance to and withdraw from the society. Senior members who
break the related national regulations, violate national
criminal laws, or infringe severely on the regulations, will
have their membership cancelled after the appraisal and
discussion of the Standing Committee. Members who do not fully
pay their membership fees for two years, will be regarded as
withdrawing their membership automatically.
